Choose a course based on ability — not a deadline
Driving skills develop at different speeds. A short course can work well for someone with existing experience, but it is not realistic to promise that a fixed number of hours will make every learner test-ready. A 2 hour assessment can help identify the right starting point.
Current course options
10 Hour Start Up
For beginners who want a concentrated start and a strong foundation.
16 Hour Course
For learners with more experience who need focused development.
20 Hour Course
For learners who would benefit from a larger block of structured tuition.
10 Hour Finishing Course
For learners already close to test standard who want to polish consistency.
What a focused course can include
Depending on your current ability, sessions can cover junctions, roundabouts, manoeuvres, rural or urban driving, independent driving, mock tests, show-me/tell-me checks and the specific faults that are holding back your progress.
Test availability matters
Common questions
Do intensive courses include a practical driving test?
The tuition and a practical test booking are separate. Test availability is controlled by DVSA, so contact the school before planning a course around a specific test date.
Which course should I choose?
A 2 hour assessment is the best way to estimate a suitable number of hours based on your current driving.
Do I need to pass my theory first?
For a finishing course you should already have passed your theory. For other course options, ask about timing when booking.
Can course hours be tailored?
Yes. Contact Norwich Driving School with your experience and preferred dates to discuss the most sensible structure.
